I felt David’s pain, I wanted to jump into the book and help him! The moment I read the first page I was carried away into the almost unreal life of a young boy named David who was treated like a slave in his own home. This book has forever changed me, and I think I am so much more thankful than I was before to have such loving parents who take care of me, encourage me, and stand behind me in everything I do every day. I was horrified and shocked beyond comprehension when I read of how David’s life was like. The thing that I could not believe is that this was a true story. And not just any story about an abused child, but the 3rd worse case ever documented in California. If this was the 3rd worse case, I can not even imagine what the other two children went through. I learned a lot by reading this book. I learned that bad things happen to people for a reason, and for the benefit of others as well. God did not forget about David in his struggles, but only made him a stronger and better man that he is today. I highly recommend this book to everyone! To the people whoever read this book I just want to say you will feel pain and agony all in one story, if you don't cry when you finish reading this book then you are not human, I repeat you're not human!
